I think if you deployed the Americans better or fought it on the fields about a mile north of the actual site it would be a more interesting battle tactically.

Historicaly Gates wanted to take a good defensive position near Camden, and dig in. Then let the British attack him. Sort of like Saratoga. Of course it didn't happen.Old Nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10414321650267966787noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4326103304951020757.post-52608914223324439042022-01-13T14:30:13.305-05:002022-01-13T14:30:13.305-05:00Thus far its been a accurate recreation of the bat...Thus far its been a accurate recreation of the battle. It was a wild stampede. On the other flank, De Kalb gave the Loyalists a rough time until he was flanked. Abandoned by Gates, he went down fighting like a lion, with many wounds from bullets and cold steel. As a martyr of the Revolution, towns and streets are named after him. Not near as many as Lafayette. Few know who he was.

I think allowing the Continental player free deployment would make a much closer game.vtsaogameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13104194914166417310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4326103304951020757.post-73655787570014512132022-01-12T10:39:56.352-05:002022-01-12T10:39:56.352-05:00Lovely sized battle (for me) Mark, look forward to...Lovely sized battle (for me) Mark, look forward to following.Normhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05031444717952755557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4326103304951020757.post-82433016021783949392022-01-12T03:15:12.705-05:002022-01-12T03:15:12.705-05:00Maybe not the most interesting action to game, but...Maybe not the most interesting action to game, but certainly one worth getting on the table just to compare it to how things unfolded in reality.

Also I can see this making for a good introductory game at a club etc as even though it is a simple line them up and fight, the background puts this into context and helps explain the initial dispositions etc.

Certainly looking forward to the next part of the action and the figures look great BTW.Steve J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12143308117853983963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4326103304951020757.post-52600457752465927912022-01-12T01:13:51.567-05:002022-01-12T01:13:51.567-05:00Nice to see an AWI battle going the British way fo...Nice to see an AWI battle going the British way for a change and from what I recall, this seems to pretty accurately recreate what occurred on the field - although perhaps a tad more quickly than in the actual battle?rrosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07316317334203888350noreply@blogger.com
