Getting away

We took a mini vacation to get away from it all this week.  Up in the lakes and hills of New Hampshire.  Peaceful and relaxing before returning to work and the upturn in work.

  1. It looks very picturesque but maybe a tad chilly, and I love the bridge.

    1. You are correct! It was chilly but nice for hiking. And most beautiful.

  2. My last trip to New Hampshire (too long ago) included a visit to the St. Gaudens scuplture Garden, in Cornish, NH. It has a full size copy of his monument to Shaw and the 54th Mass. The house also has a wonderful veranda. If I ever hit the lottery, I will get a house with a copy of that, an excellent place for people to gather and talk, possible even play a game.

  3. I have also been there and it is most beautiful. I think the 54th monument is incredibly beautiful and most thought provoking. When ever I am in Boston I take time to visit it to pay my respects.

  4. Beautiful. I can almost hear poor old Ichabod thundering through that bridge with the Hessian in hot pursuit!

    1. You know, I will never be able to look at a covered bridge again without thinking about poor Ichabid! That is wonderful!
