I have visited the monument twice. It is a moving and solemn experience especially having a grandfather who served in the USN during the war in the Pacific.
Although I have not yet been there I would agree. It has to be incredibly emotional. I was at a training course years ago with indicate NPS divers from the site. The divers who are mapping the Arizona are respectful of the site and speak of it in solemn tones.
